In December of 2014 the Ugandan Water Project and Hackers For Charity launched a new partner project. The goal is to combine the strengths of both organizations to help solve aspects of the water crisis in Uganda.

Phase 1 was the Rehabilitation of several broken Borehole Wells in Wakiso District, paid for by Hackers For Charity’s donors specifically requesting this life-saving investment. These wells were fixed during mid December and and included community education and assistance with re-establishing local water committees.

Phase 2 will be happening soon and will bring HFC’s strength to bear – we will be installing a set of sensors on the wells (also donated by HFC) to remotely monitor a number of variables to help both organizations learn how to improve impact work and project performance.
