Day 2&3

Saturday was a good day with the team. After breakfast at the Keep, we headed over to the CTC to talk to the staff and have a look around. The staff had lots of suggestions and questions and we lined up interviews for Monday. I also showed them the site of the temporary hackerspace (located next to the existing CTC) which doesn’t look like much yet, and the site of a potentially new site for the CTC/Hackerspace which is still wrangled in court proceedings.

We set up student interviews for Monday at the CTC.

On Sunday, we had a special breakfast at the house of homemade Belgian waffles and breakfast sausages, all made from scratch thanks to Jen and spent some time relaxing.

Tim and Jo had never driven a motorcycle, so I gave them lessons and they did terrific! Gerald was also interested in lessons so we taught him too! In the videos, you can see Lake Victoria in the background (our “atrocious” front yard ;-)

We took a boat tour to the Source of the Nile (launching pretty much across the street from our house), and had a nice dinner at the Sailing Club, thanks to the team. They paid us a great compliment saying the, “view was better than the Keep but the food wasn’t”. ;-)

Later that night, we hung out, geeked out a bit and played a few rounds of “Bang!” the amazing card game that I’ve gotten them addicted to. All in all, it was a very relaxing weekend, and a great time to collaborate and think through what’s next.

No schedule, no problem. I love it!
