First Donations
admin on 29 Jul 2007 | Success

Most organizations, especially those in developing countries need gear. Most have seriously antiquated stuff, and technology empowers them to do more, faster. Our upgrade trail is a lifeline to those in need. Our first wave of equipment donations is in, and it traces a path literally around the globe. Ben Sgro, Chief Engineer of ProjectSkyLine donated two IBM Thinkpad 760 ED laptops (one shown above). Laptops are so critical to these organizations. They’re easy to ship, and the portability is a huge plus. Thanks, Ben!
Alrik (Murfie, moderator of http://johnny.ihackstuff.com forums) donated a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Thanks Murf!
Several anonymous donors contributed gear, including:
1 AMD 1.8GHZ PC, 512MB RAM, toasted hard drive. Someone donated a hard drive which we can use to replace this puppy, and the XP license on the machine may be transferrable.
1 Linksys WRT54GR (1.1) Wireless G router
1 Linksys 5-port hub
1 KVM 2-port switch (with cables). These are great because monitors are a beast to ship/carry overseas and keyboards and mice break down quickly.
5 PCI Ethernet cards
1 Maxtor 15GB hard drive
1 Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse
1 Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse
